Drug Bust At RIDE Meghan MACDONALD

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three local residents following an incident involving a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check in the Town of Shelburne.
On February 17, 2026, just after 12:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP A Platoon officers were conducting a RIDE spot check in the area of Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne when they observed a black SUV allegedly attempting to evade the checkpoint. Officers located the vehicle moments later. Upon conducting the traffic stop, officers discovered drug paraphernalia, which led to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.
Meghan MACDONALD, a 48-year-old female from Shelburne, has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
Possession of unmarked cigarettes
Consuming liquor in an unauthorized place
Additionally, a 47-year-old male from Shelburne and a 49-year-old male from Mono were released at the scene, both receiving numerous Provincial Offences Notices.
The Dufferin OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead if consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, taxi, rideshare service, public transit, or arrange to stay overnight.
