(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) A young driver is facing charges following an impaired driving investigation in Simcoe.
On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 12:03 a.m., officers from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle to assess the drivers sobriety.
Following a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 21-year-old Donavan OUWENDYK of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
Young driver B.A.C. above zero,
Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
