15 Year Old Dead Cornelis VERHEYEN Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) Members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have charged an individual as a result of a farming accident that claimed a life in North Middlesex.
On September 20, 2025, at 4:03 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP, Lambton County EMS and local fire were dispatched to a farm on Parkhill Drive in the Municipality of North Middlesex for the report of a farming accident.
Investigation revealed an individual was located unconscious in a well on the property and was subsequently transported to hospital.
The individual, a 15-year-old of Arkona, was later pronounced deceased at hospital.
Members of the Middlesex County OPP along with the Ministry of Labour and Office of the Coroner were called in to assist with the investigation.
As a result, Cornelis VERHEYEN, a 58-year-old of North Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
Causing Death by Criminal Negligence
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on December 18, 2025.
