(GRAVENHURST, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with several offenses related to ongoing investigations into break and enters in Gravenhurst.
Bracebridge OPP, with the assistance of the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), has been investigating several break and enters into business locations that have occurred in the town of Gravenhurst in April and May, 2024. As a result of the investigation, police identified a suspect and on May 6, 2024, attempted to execute an arrest of that person in Gravenhurst. The suspect fled on a bicycle and a search was conducted into the late evening with the assistance of the OPP K9 unit and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), however the search was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
At 8:00 a.m. on June 7, 2024, police were dispatched to a break and enter that occurred at the Cultural Healing Centre on the Wahta Mohawk First Nation after the manager noticed a broken window while opening the centre for the day. The investigation revealed that the suspect was the same person related to the ongoing investigation in the town of Gravenhurst.
