(PERTH EAST, ON) - Three rural residential properties were victim to break and enters last week after unknown suspects committed a series of thefts in the Township of Perth East.

On November 17 2020, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received three reports of break and enters that had occurred sometime overnight at properties on Perth Line 39 and Perth Line 36, in the Township of Perth East. Garages and sheds were entered, and unlocked vehicles entered. Items stolen include various tools, electronics, a bag, clothing, as well as a small amount of cash and gift cards. The total value of all the stolen property was less than $2000.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind the public to report any suspicious activity immediately, and consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms. Ensure vehicles, sheds, garages and doors are locked to prevent these crimes from happening.

It is possible that more break and enters occurred in the area, but were not reported. The Perth County OPP encourages citizens to report these incidents, and reports can now be submitted online, regardless of value, where there is no evidence at the scene or no suspects. The user can easily log into www.opp.ca/reporting to see a complete list of eligible occurrences, and choose their location to begin the report. This will take the user to a secure link where they will be given precise instructions on how to fill out the report.

Anyone with information regarding this or any incident can also call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous online message at http://hc-cs.ca where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
